The Art of Intention: How we meaningfully handcraft our sustainable jewelry in our zero-carbon studio.

At Pyrrha, every talisman tells a story of craftsmanship, sustainability, and deep intention. Unlike most in the industry, we design, create, and finish our entire collection in-house, using time-honored techniques in our certified zero-carbon studio. From initial concept to final polish, we meticulously handcraft each and every piece under one roof.

An End-to-End Process Rooted in Sustainability

Our process begins with design, where inspiration is drawn from history, symbolism, and the challenges people face in their everyday lives. Each piece is thoughtfully conceptualized and the imagery designed, ensuring it resonates with our values—longevity, artistry, and sustainability.

From there, we move to wax work, a delicate process where we imprint our original artwork into the wax and create and smooth the borders of each talisman. We incorporate antique wax seals into the design of the borders, preserving the imperfections and texture that give Pyrrha pieces their signature look and feel. The pieces are then attached to a "tree" with sprues that act as channels to allow metal flow.

The next step is casting, where molten, recycled metals take form using the ancient lost wax technique. Each piece is encased in plaster and heated in a kiln to allow the wax to burn out while leaving a hollow in the plaster with which to fill with metal. Unlike the overwhelming majority of jewelry designers, we cast our jewelry in-house. This allows us to have full control over the methods used, ensuring the highest quality with the least amount of environmental impact.

After quenching the casting—a process where the hot metal is submerged in water for cooling—the pieces are cleaned of debris and clipped off of the tree. From there, they undergo various methods of grinding and polishing.

Then comes soldering and assembly, a stage that requires precision and patience. Our artisans carefully join elements with a focused flame, reinforcing the strength and durability of each creation. Every detail, no matter how small, is executed with care.

Finally, our jewelry undergoes hand-finishing, where each piece is intentionally blackened, polished, and refined with small, detailed tools to bring out the imagery. In this final proprietary series of steps, the essence of Pyrrha fully comes to life—meaningful jewelry created through the fusion of old-world techniques and modern sustainability practices.

A Space Built for Sustainability and Well-Being

Our Vancouver studio is a reflection of our values. As a zero-carbon space (certified through the Canadian Green Building Council), every element of our workshop is designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort. From energy-efficient systems like geothermal cooling, heating, and photochromatic windows to responsibly sourced materials, our commitment to sustainable luxury extends beyond our jewelry and into the walls that house our craft.

What makes Pyrrha truly unique in the industry is that everything happens under one roof. While most jewelry brands outsource various stages of production, we keep the entire process in-house, ensuring quality, sustainability, and ethical practices at every step.

The Pyrrha Difference: Sustainable Luxury with Soul

In an industry where mass production often takes precedence, Pyrrha stands as a rare exception—where every piece is carefully and slowly crafted, where sustainability isn’t an afterthought, and where the human touch remains central to the art of jewelry making. This means our artisans—who are the heart of Pyrrha—work in an environment that prioritizes both their well-being and artistic fulfillment. Our process is deliberate, our materials responsibly sourced, and our jewelry imbued with conceptual and physical heft.

This is what jewelry with meaning means to us—made with intention, in a beautiful and sustainable setting by a team that truly loves what they do.
